Jeff Eaton
After more than 25 years of playing and coaching hockey in Canada and the United States, Eaton has earned a solid reputation for showing promising athletes how to reach their full potential.
Eaton is currently in his third year as the Director of Hockey for the North Shore Female Ice Hockey Association. At NSFIHA, Eaton oversees the Skill Development for the Association teams and is a resource and mentor to the Associations Coaches.
Eaton is also the Head Coach for the Pacific Steelers Junior Female Hockey Club. The Steelers, play in the Junior Women’s Hockey League, based out of the East Coast of the United States. This ever expanding league includes teams from all over North America. The Steelers are recognized as a top level program by US College Hockey Coaches, as a result the Steelers have placed over 50 female players into US College hockey programs.
This year Eaton has rejoined the Burnaby Winter Club. As its Hockey Director, Eaton oversees the BWC teams and the Skill Development for Hockey 4 to Bantam
Previously, Eaton was the Head Coach of the University of Colorado Men’s Varsity Hockey Team. Coach Eaton racked up a 41-18-5 (.694) record in two seasons. He led the team to back-to-back appearances in the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s (ACHA) National Tournament in the 2006 and 2007, finishing in 8th place his first year as head coach.
Prior to his time with the University of Colorado, Eaton already had a well-established reputation as a player and professional coach in British Columbia, Canada. He grew up on the ice and played at the highest levels on top teams in the Vancouver area. At the age of 14, he started his Junior hockey career, where he spent 5 years with teams such as the Trail Smoke Eaters and the Nanaimo Clippers.
Once Eaton turned his attention to coaching, his professional hockey career took off. He began coaching in 1995, teaching skills development throughout Canada and the United States. Then, in 1998, Eaton was named General Manager/Hockey Director of the prestigious Burnaby Winter Club in Burnaby, B.C., Canada. The club is known for producing hockey champions and has sent more than 25 of its alumni to the NHL
During his tenure as General Manager Eaton helped to lead AAA teams at every level to 33 Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association league and playoff Championships as well as five British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association Championships. This includes back-to-back Bantam Championships in 2002 and 2003, with the 2002 team winning a Western Canadian championship. The club also saw more than 30 of its players selected in the Western Hockey League’s Bantam Draft.
Eaton, who is a Level 4 Certified USA Hockey Coach, is committed to furthering his hockey education; he attended both the Canadian International Coaches Conference and the American Hockey Coaches Association Conference.
